Celtics Win 107-89 Behind Strong Performances from Tatum and Brown

Derrick White Also Contributes 16 Points for Boston

Boston, MA - June 6, 2024 - The Boston Celtics asserted their dominance over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, winning 107-89 on Tuesday night at the TD Garden.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 27 points, while Jaylen Brown added 26. Derrick White was the only other Celtics player to score in double figures, contributing 16 points. Kristaps Porzingis returned to the Celtics lineup after missing time with a calf injury and scored 12 points.

The Celtics took control of the game early, building a 10-point lead by the end of the first quarter. They extended their lead to 20 points by halftime and never looked back.

The Mavericks were led by Luka Doncic, who finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists. However, he was not able to get much help from his teammates. Spencer Dinwiddie was the only other Mavericks player to score in double figures, finishing with 16 points.

The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Mavericks in Game 2 on Thursday night.
